The Austrian Association of Curators (AAC) is not just a professional network — it’s a space for reflection, negotiation, and collective action within and beyond Austria’s curatorial field. As cultural infrastructures face renewed pressures — economic precarity, political instrumentalisation, and algorithmic flattening — the AAC provides a framework for mutual support, critical discourse, and pragmatic tools. Membership isn’t transactional. It’s a contribution to a shared project: the future of curatorial work.

Sliding-Scale Membership Fees

AAC membership operates on a sliding scale — because precarity is not a niche, but a structural condition. We trust our members to assess their situation honestly.

• Tier I — €35/year
  For students, emerging practitioners, and those navigating financial fragility
  
  
• Tier II — €55/year
  For those in stable part-time or freelance arrangements
  
  
• Tier III — €70/year
  For those with institutional support or full-time income

• Curator-led workshops (min. 3/year) with reduced fees for members

AAC is built on the principles of the Fairness Codex: transparency, diversity, sustainability, and respect. These structure everything from our sliding-scale fees to our workshop formats and governance. We don’t aspire to exclusivity. We aim for structural impact.
